The New York Jets finally have a winning record at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. After waiting
the entire season, the team is progressing in the right direction. Its entire staff has been working
hard to improve their players’ skills and is wildly succeeding.
Starting on the first day of the offseason, the coaches and the New York Jets team worked immensely
hard to improve the players’ skills. They were expected to be unstoppable until a surprise event
happened during the first game. Seventy-five seconds into the game, the Jets’ star quarterback, Aaron
Rogers, tore his Achilles tendon. This unfortunate injury could have significantly impacted the season, but luckily, it did not.
The Jets are only half away through, but they will continue to ascend in the league’s rankings. The defense is one of the strong suits of this team. They have many star players, including the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year, Sauce Gardener. If all athletes on the field put their heads together,
they would be unstoppable. Their offense includes the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Garett Wilson.
The main issue with this team is their need for a quarterback capable of getting the ball down the field.
Joe Namath, the quarterback who led the Jets to their one and only Super Bowl victory, feels
that Zack Wilson is not a quarterback worth a spot on the roster and that the coaches need to be replaced. Namath told Michael Kay on ESPN radio, “These guys aren’t picking the right players. They aren’t doing a good job of coaching. It’s evident. I mean, you’ve got to look and see. If you have an eye for football, you see things are haywire. It’s too ridiculous. They need to fix it, and that’s getting rid of many people and bringing new ones in.” In this quote, Namath refers to the coaching staff needing to do their jobs more effectively.
So far this season, the Jets scored victories in weeks one, five, six, and seven over the Bills, Broncos,
Eagles, and Giants. These wins have helped their collection of momentum. When teams are doing well,
that keeps the attitude in the locker room positive. This mindset means that the Jets will only progress upward. As the season continues, there will be ups and downs, but hopefully, the good will outweigh the bad.
